A Key Crystal is a formation which features a key-hole, or indented formation in the face or side of the crystal. In a quartz crystal, the "key" will be a three- or six-sided hole, in other crystals this can change depending on the crystals unique molecular structure.
This structure is formed when a second crystal (usually quartz) forms penetrating the host crystal. the intrusion later breaks away or is dissolved leaving the Key-hole formation.
The Key crystal can be used to "unlock" doors to hidden or illusive aspects of the self. It provides access to answers for questions like: why? how? and what? It can be used to access information by placing the Crystal on a text book, letter, photograph, or x ray to stimulate your inner knowledge of the question at hand.
